PLANNING
- Developer gets initial advice from planning officers
- Developer submits planning application to local planning authority
- Application published on planning register
- Council consults with parish/town council, notified immediate neighbours
- Planning consultation, developer may hold public exhibition and public sends comments to planning authority
- Planning officers write recommendations to planning committee
- Planning committee making decision
- Applicant has option to appeal if refused, or can change proposal and submit new allocation

CHILD CARE
Case conference - starts process where child may be place ‘at risk’
attended by anyone that may be concerned with child
Child protection plan - plans details what professionals will do to protect child, where child should live and who has contact
Court Orders:
Child Assessment Order - person must bring child to be assessed for 7 days
Supervision order - Local authority given power to monitor child at home or elsewhere
Emergency Protection Order - fast track order if child in immediate danger. Child taken to safe place and parent responsibilities given to person who took out order - lasts 8 days can be extended for another 7
Care Order - child taken into care by upper council, preference is to find foster/adoptive family
