what is a facilitator?
- they support the person who’s review is being discussed.
- they focus on the strengths and capabilities of the person and ask a range of questions
what do facilitators ensure?
that the meeting focuses on the individual and doesn’t get side tracked to another topic.
what role will a facilitator take in review meetings?
they will led and ask questions about the individual (to keep it on the topic of conversation).
what are the 3 things that are underneath the facilitators role?
- collates contributions from all people
- decides a common decision direction with the focus on the individual
- compares and explores different perspectives.
what is the most important thing that a facilitator must make sure happens?
they must check on an individual to make sure that they are happy with the review and plan that has been out forward.
what questions do the facilitator ask?
- what is important now to this person.
- what is important for the future
- what is working/not not working in the person’s perspective
- what can we do to help the person achieve their objectives
How the individual can be made to feel as comfortable as possible during the meeting?
- Giving them choice over the meeting venue
- Allowing them choice over who is present
- Making sure the venue is accessible and the timings of the meeting convenient
who’s role is it to make sure that individuals feel comfortable during review meetings?
any HSC job that works with families such as social work
- as the being comfortable during the meeting is essential
