How does smoking cause cancer in the lungs?
Destroys the walls of the alveoli and damages the cells that line the lungs. Cells effected by the smoke will have damaged DNA which can lead to cancerous growth.The chemicals in the smoke also cause the bodies cleaning mechanism to fail.
What chemicals in tobacco smoke are cancerous?

Discovered penicillin
When it could be made at higher concerntrations years later it was the first effective antibiotic.
Stopped deaths from minor infections and viruses saving millions of lives.
Who was Luis Pasteur and what was he famous for?
Discovered that infectious disease was spread by bacteria .
Boiled broth - one was sealed for air the other wasn’t - the sealed one didnt grow any bacteria
