Q

What is the role the kidney?

A

Regulate water balance in the body. Blood enters nephrons in the kidneys and their impurities are filtered out. The blood is then re-absorbed into the capillaries. The by-product urine filters into the bowels then leaves through the urethra.

Q

What is the role of the liver?

A

Main detoxifying organ of the body , especially for nitrogenous wastes. The cells play host to biochemical processes that creat ammonia form amino acids. Since ammonia is extremely toxic, it is quickly converted to urea before being transported in the blood towards the kidney.
