What are the seven life processes?
Growing, feeding, breathing, moving, reproducing, excreting, sensing
What does excreting mean?
They get rid of the body’s waste products( such as urine)
What does reproducing mean?
They produce babies, young animals or plants
What are the 5 senses?
Sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell
What is germination?
When a seed starts to grow
What is an organism?
A living thing
What does the word hatch mean?
The process by which an animal (chick, crocodile, turtle etc) breaks out of the egg in which it was growing
What does a seed need to germinate?
Water and warmth
What does yeast need to grow?
Food ( give it sugar), Water and warmth
What does an egg need to hatch?
Warmth, food ( in egg yolk), air ( gets through shell)
What 5 things may organisms need to make them grow?
Food, warmth, light, air and water
What are dead things?
Things that were once living, but are not alive any more
How can you tell if something is living?
It carries out the 7 life processes
