What is a predator?
Animals that catch and eat other animals
Name 4 different habitats
- Sea
- River
- Grassland
- Forest
What are the characteristics of a grassland?
They have lots of grasses and few trees.
They only get enough rain for grasses to grow, not enough for trees.
They have summer rainfall.
They are usually warm in summer and cold in winter.
What are the characteristics of a forest?
- They have tall trees and small plants.
- They get rain all year
- They don’t get very hot or cold.
What similarities do the sea and river habitats have?
The water temperature doesn’t change much
What is the main difference between River and sea habitats?
These a water is salty. Rivers generally have fresh water ( except near the end when they get to the sea)
What do all animals need in their habitats?
- Shelter from bad weather
- A place to hide from predators.
- Safe places to rear their young.
- A place to get food.
- A place to get water
