What is this a presentation of?
Fever, malaise, anorexia, weight loss, RUQ pain, heard and irregular hepatomegaly, jaundice, ascites.

Liver tumour (90% are metastases)

How is a suspected liver tumour investigated?
A
- FBC, clotting, glucose, LFTs, albumin, AFP
- USS/CT to identify and guide biopsy
- ERCP if suspect cholangiocarcinoma
- If lesion is metastatic, find primary.

What are the main causes of hepatocellular carcinoma?
A
HBV - worldwide
HCV - EU

What is the treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma?
A
Resect solid tumours but many reoccur, consider liver transplant.

What are the most common benign liver tumours?
A
Haemangiomas (no investigation/treatment needed)
