Limits Flashcards
Maximum Altitude
41,000 MSL
Icing Limits
Prolonged flight into icing conditions prohibited.
When airframe icing is visible, intentional stalls or use of full flaps is not authorized.
Throttle at Idle For:
- abrupt (0.5s or less from neutral to full back stick) pulls to full backstick
- abrupt full lateral stick inputs at full backstick.
- airspeeds less than 85KIAS at altitudes above 15,000 MSL
Slow throttle movements
required for airspeeds 85 to 150 KIAS above 35,000 MSL
Engine must be stabilized
at Idle for at least 30s prior to shutdown, except for an emergency.
may result in sub-idle condition leading to flameout:
sustained engine operation at less than 70% N2 above 30,000 MSL
Manual Fuel control limits
N2 less than 90% over 20,000 MSL
N2 less than 95% at or below 20,000 MSL
Throttle position for start
Start prohibited with throttle above ground Idle detent
Max time for engine light-off
within 15s of moving throttle to idle.
Minimum battery voltage for start
24V
Sequential start attempt limitations
3 successive starts. 30 minute cool down period before another attempt.
idle increase with airflow knob in OFF position:
approximately 2%
maximum shift in Idle RPM between post-start and engine shutdown checks:
2%, corrected for standard day conditions.
GTS start with external power:
is prohibited
minimum interval between GTS start attempts/GTS start limitations:
3 minutes. ( 3 minute delay does not apply in emergencies)
after 3 successive start attempts, minimum 30 minute delay
Additional GTS start attempts after an unsuccessful GTS start attempt:
prohibited until the GTS exhaust duct and combusted inspected, residual fuel removed.
RAT doors inspected for discoloration and warpage.
GTS starts:
not reliable over 15,000 MSL
Freeze point for F-24, JET A, and F-24 + 100 (F-27)
-40C ( - 40F)
To Prevent fuel freezing
do not allow indicated OAT to dwell at or below freeze point of fuel in use.
fuel additives (FSII, CI/LI)
must be injected at the fuel source to be used without restriction.
FSII / CI/LI
Fuel System Icing Inhibitor,
Corrosion inhibitor / lubricity improver
the addition of aerosol FSII
is prohibited
MAX AoA for emergency flap configuration
(flaps half/full, slats up)
(Flaps extended by EMER FLAPS in DOWN position)
AoA for pedal shaker / warning tone.
Sideslip limitations
minimize sideslip with gear in transition or extended above 150KIAS in order to prevent damage to gear doors and NLG strut door.
