Definition of icing conditions
OAT (on ground or after takeoff) or the TAT (in flight) is at or below 10 °C and above -40 and visible moisture in any form is present (clouds, fog with visibility of 1600 or less, rain, snow) or operating on taxiways or runways with snow, standing water or slush may be ingested/freeze on engines, nacelles or engine sensor probes.
48
Definition of severe ice accretion
Accumulation on the airframe reaches approximately 5 mm thick or more.
49
Definition of thin hoarfrost
White crystalline deposit which usually develops uniformly on exposed surfaces on cold and cloudless nights. It is so thin that surface features (lines or markings) can be distinguished beneath it.
50
Rain repellent use
Only in the case of moderate to heavy rain
51
Cruise ECAM pages
ENG : Oil pressure and temperature BLEED ELEC : Parameters, GEN loads HYD : A slight decrease in quantity is normal, contraction during cold soak can be expected. Green system is lower than on ground, following landing gear retraction. FUEL : Fuel distribution COND : Duct temperature, compared with zone temperature. Avoid large differences for passenger comfort. F/CTL : Note any unusual control surface position DOOR : Oxygen pressure.
52
Too steep path restriction
If after FDP, FINAL APP mode cannot be used (must use selected mode, FPA, or FLS)
