Takeoff alternate requirement
Conditions below lowest appropriate landing minima within 30 mins of ETD.
Within 60 mins SE cruise speed.
Inter/Tempo at with prob 30 or 40 do not need to be considered for alternate airport.
Alternate requirements
30 mins prior/after ETD.
More than SCT below alternate criteria.
FEW + FEW = SCT, FEW + SCT = BKN, SCT + SCT = BKN.
VV Below alternate weather criteria.
Vis less than alternate weather criteria.
X - wind or tailwind greater than a/c limit (Including gusts).
Thunderstorms or probability of.
Forecasts indicate RWY could be contaminated (+SHRA) and calculated LDG perf with medium-poor braking exceeds LDA.
International flight and destination does not have separate runways.
Alternate fuel exemptions
INTER - 30 mins
TEMPO - 60 mins
Only most limiting requirement (not cumulative)
Thunderstorms or Vis reduction with prob 30/40 can be disregarded if within the first 3hrs of TAF3
EDTO alternate weather minima
Precision app - +200’ and +800m
Non-precision app - +400’ and +1500m
Adequate airport
Post dispatch - Ceiling and vis must be at or above landing minima

Rapid decompression
Rapid decompression and engine failure
Engine failure
Flown at LRC except EDTO engine failures which also have APU on.
Procced to appropriate airport and APP/LDG (5mins at fixed res)
Weather holding requirements
15 mins holding at fixed reserve rate
Standard fuel with no SID/STAR for departure/arrival
A320/A321LR - 100kg
A321C - 125kg
Variable reserve
5% and not less than 5 mins at fixed reserve rate
Limited to 1000kg
Holding fuel
Fuel burn at 20 000’ for traffic/delays or INTER/TEMPO requirements
A320 - 2400kg
A321 - 3000kg
A321LR - 2500kg
Simultaneous wx and traffic
TEMPO - if total holding exceeds 80mins an alternate must be planned
INTER - exceeds 60mins alternate must be planned
Thunderstorms - INTER thunderstorms 60mins holding to be carried (payload permitting)
Fixed reserve
30 mins at 1500’ holding.
Anticipated temps above ISA, ISA if temp below ISA.
