Ligaments Flashcards
coracoclavicular ligament
joins the coracoid process of the scapula to the clavicle
sternoclavicular ligament
joins the sternum with the clavicle
coracoacromial ligament
joins the coracoid process to the acromion of the scapula
capsular ligament
Articular capsule - surrounds the head of the humerus and anchors It to the scapula
coracohumeral ligament
connects the head of the humerus to the coracoid process of the scapula
acromioclavicular ligament
attaches the acromion process of the scapula to the clavicle.
ACL ligament
anterior cruciate ligament -posterior knee
PCL ligament
posterior cruciate ligament
medial collateral ligament
connects the femur to the tibia on the medial side
lateral collateral ligament
connect the femur to the fibula on the lateral side
medial and lateral meniscus
give added stability for the femur to articulate with tibia and fibula
patellar ligament
attaches the patella to the tibia
iliofemoral
attaches the femur to the ilium
iliolinguinal ligamnet
holds the ASIS of th ilium to the pubis bone
uterosacral ligament
connects the sacrum to each side of uterus in females.
posterior longitudinal ligament
connecting the posterior of vertebral bodies
anterior longitudinal ligament
connects the anterior of vertebral bodies
interspinous ligaments
connect the spinous process of two adjacent vertebrae
tendons of rotator cuff
support the shoulder joint - supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis. ** Help limit movement at the shoulder so the head of the humerus is stabilized with the joint
iliolumbar ligament
posteriority the pelvis is held to the sacrum
anterior sacroiliac ligament
posteriorly holds the pelvis to the sacrum
ilioinguinal ligament
holds the ASIS if the ilium to the pubis bone
