Intermediate
The host in which the immature parasite lives
Transport/paratenic
Host which carries and can transmit parasite
Parasite does not develop in the host
Accidental host
Host that doesn’t usually get infected by that parasite: often a dead end host (won’t add in transmission to parasite)
Reservoir Host
Host that acts as a source of infection to other species or humans ; commonly infected species with that parasite
Direct
When a parasite is transmitted from one host to the next without the need for an intermediate host or vector
The parasite can survive for period in the environment while waiting to infect new host
Dog poops roundworm eggs/transmits through milk and baby eats milk/feces
