Anything that has a soul.
What are the characteristics of living beings

- Self Realization(fulfilment)

What is self movement
A living being that has in itself the principle of its own movement. Doesn’t need external agents to propel them to move.
What is Unity
All living beings are one and cannot be divided without dying.
What is Immanence
These are actions are actions whose effects remain in the subject.
What is Self fulfilment/realization
This is the development and unfolding themselves in time.
What is Rhythm
All living things show a particular cycle, they grow, reproduce and eventually die.
The cycle of life is a movement that happens over and again.
Are souls material ?
The soul is not material for if it were, then all bodies would have life.
What are the 3 degrees to life
- vegetative

What are the characteristics of a vegetative life
- Growth
- Reproduction
- Nutrition
- Excretion
What makes animals different from plants
Animals have senses plants do not. This is known as instinct.
What are the four stimuli animals grasp ?
- Present

- Future
What is instinct
This is the tendency arising from sense perception.
What are the characteristics of animal life
- Automatism of the circuit stimulus response
- Intervention of sense perception
- Fulfilment of specific ends proper to the species
What is the difference between Intellectual life and animal life ?
In man the closed circuit “stimulus response “ is broken.
Decision making is introduced as they are not restricted by the sensitive appetite.
