Requirements for TRANSFER pharmacist license

A

Must meet requirements of “New Pharmacist” (grad of approved school, 18+, 1500 intern hrs, moral character) and:

●Good standing in states where applicant holds license
● Other state/jurisdiction is recognized by Board of Pharmacy
● Preliminary application via NABP
→ NABP will conduct evaluation

20 contact hours/year required

so 40 contact hours needed per 2-year renewal cycle

A

the following is hours required PER YEAR (**double these for hours per cycle)

LAW: 2 hours
LIVE: 5 hours
MAX per day: 8 hours

Sterile compounding rph -> 5 hrs on sterile compounding

non-sterile compounding rph -> 3 hrs on non-sterile compounding

vaccine administering rph -> 2 hrs PER CYCLE (***no yearly requirement)

CE requirements DO NOT apply the year you graduated pharmacy school :)

MA MOP uses PCS (profess credential services) to process applications

  1. payment
  2. photo
  3. verification of graduation form
  4. copy of (valid); drivers license/ passport/ birth certificate
  5. notary for PCS to run background check

1-5 = everything for NEW

  • for score transfer - (+) request NABP send NAPLEX score to MA BOP prior to taking the exam
    • for reciprocity - (+) Application for transfer of pharmacist licensure from NABP
    • *for foreign - (+) FPGEC certification from NABP

    • if 17 and has completed 1500 hr or 1 yr employment - they may submit applicaiton up to 30 days before 18th birthday
