Tell me about the Library:
-Newman is the largest of the 3 on campus; the other 2 are department specific (vetmed &architecture)
-Has over 6 million resources, both print and online
-offers both quiet and group study floors
-Inter-Library Loan: other universities a part of the loan service and will ship requested books to VT free of charge
-Writing center and Comm labs available on 2nd floor; great resource for help with papers, research, projects, etc.
Tell me about Studio Network:
-The University Libraries houses a network of studios where you can record and mix audio, record and edit video, 3D print, check out things like microphones, cameras, and board games, and explore virtual reality.
-A new prototyping studio is opening this summer/fall and will include a laser cutter, vacuum former, CNC router, PCB printer, and more! The studios are open to all students!
Tell me about Moss Arts Center:
-Partenerd with institute of Creativity, Arts and Technology.
-Research institute focused on art, design, engineering, and science.
-1,260 seat performance hall
-3 visual art galleries
-Variety of Performances offered:
>student organizations and concerts
>fun concerts from outside performers
>children and student tickets $10
>Free last-minute rush tickets available to tech students
>students have opportunity to learn from professional artists through workshops and master classes
