How many dining centers are on campus and how many restaurants in total?
Give examples of the 9 dining centers.
-9 Dining Centers: Au Bon Pain at squires, GLC & Goodwin Hall, Burger 37’ at Squires, Deet’s Place, D2, DXpress at Dietrick Hall, Food court/Hokie Grill at Owens Hall, Turner Place, Vet-Med Cafe, and West end Market.
-there are 46 restaurant establishments (JP’s Chop house, Leaf & Ladle, Seven70, etc.)
Talk about the food trucks on campus:
-2 food trucks on campus
-Grillfield and The Periodic Table
-rotate locations for more “under-served” areas on campus
-VT Dining post the monthly schedules for these
Talk about the ranking of our Food/Dining:
-Ranked very high
-#2 campus food in Niche
-#11 out of 382 colleges per Princeton review
-Options: Mexican, Italian, deli sandwiches, London broil, lobster, sushi/Hibachi. Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/halal options as well.
Talk about payment systems for dining:
-Use the declining balance system not meals per week.
-works like a debit card and your hokie P will hold a particular amount of money based on meal plan purchased.
-Can add money if you run out
-Money will roll over from semester to semester but will not roll over year to year
>can buy bulk items at the end of the year
>can donate money to programs to fight hunger
-1/2 off at al a carte facilities and 2/3 off at D2 w/ meal plan
What are the dining plan options?
Premium, Mega, Major, Minor, and Commuter
-students who live on campus MUST have a dining plan and can choose from any meal plan except the commuter.
-Students who live off campus can purchase any of the meal plans (not in the fall; only for students who live on campus)
