-Opened August of 2020

-Yes you can and its $5
What 3 other sports areas are open to students?
-Tennis Courts on Washington Street

Tell me about Fitness classes for students:
-Group Exercise (yoga, Pilates, Zumba)
-Personal trainers
-Small group training (GRIT; cross-fit style class, etc.)
-Dance classes
How do you pay for these fitness classes?
-There is a free trial period at the beginning of the semester and it’s free during finals week
-Full pass for the year is $85 or $50 per semester
-Mindy/Body pass is $50 for year and $30 per semester
What else is offered via McComas?
Health and Safety Certifications (CPR etc.)
Tell me about venture out:
-Located next to Rec Field House and turf fields
-Take trips for different outdoor activities: Horseback riding, caving, climbing, hiking, white water rafting, etc.
-small fee, but includes transportation and equipment
-students can rent equipment for cheap
-its a great resource for students looking to do outdoor activities
-Challenge Course: suspended rope course opened in Fall 2018, located by the practice field for the Marching Virginians, you can see it while on huckleberry trail!
Describe the level of sports:
-We are D1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, swimming etc.
-We have 30 teams for club sports; about the same commitment as a high school team. There are tryouts, practices during the week, and traveling to play other club teams at other universities.
-fun fact, our club baseball just won a national championship in 2021!
-Intermural sports; anyone can participate. There’s beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Both Co-ed and single sex teams and you can sign up on your own or with a group. includes battleship, flag football, water polo, ultimate frisbee, etc.
-only pay one flat fee for the year which is $20
Talk about Rec sports & welcome week:
-Rec Sports hosts a bunch of events so students can get to know what offerings there are in terms of recreation
-Includes outdoor yoga, run club meet-ups, venture out trips
-Rec Fest: fair like environment where students can meet sport clubs, learn about rec sports
Talk about tickets for sports:
-Sporting events for students are free, excluding football and basketball
-womens basketball is free, just show your hokieP
-Baseball tickets are also free, but you sign up online to get the free tickets
Explain the lottery system in regards to tickets for games:
-Lottery system is free for all students
-Students will receive an email from athletics which will take them to the tickets portal
-2-wave lottery system for basketball; wave 1 allows students to return tickets if not going and wave 2 allows for anyone who didn’t win wave one an opportunity at a ticket
Tell me about season tickets:
-110 for a football season and 100 for a basketball season
-guarantees entry and seating into the home games, number varies from season to season. (6-7 home football and 12-18 games)
-Guest tickets can be purchased with the purchase of season tickets
Talk about seating and traditions in athletics:
-NEW THIS YEAR; seating is general admission for students but students do have a designated entrance for football and basketball games
-First come first serve
-Traditions include: Hokie Pokie, Enter Sandman, Lets go Hokie chant, Skipper cannon, Fight song, and Key plays
