Proper noun
specific name for object, person, place or thing
Concrete noun
tangible object you can physically see, touch or experience it
Abstract noun
intangible object, idea, emotion, feeling or state of being

can be counted and made plural e.g. books
Uncountable noun
cannot be made plural e.g. money
Collective noun
collection or group of people, places ideas or objects

Types of compound nouns
open form = step brother
hyphenated form = brother - in - law
closed form = toothpaste
