A cult leader has a great idea to recruit a hundred million new members. Since he’s the guy with all the ideas, he is the leader of the cult. His idea is to give every new member a free puppy. He’ll have a hundred million new recruits in no time.
Additional Info:
Imagine a hundred million free puppies. That’s a lot. Imagine playing with all of them. You’d be pretty happy. Unless you hate puppies. Then you’d be pretty unhappy, I imagine.

Reading Mnemonic
The cult leader has his headquarters in Oklahoma (おく). Are there a hundred million people in Oklahoma? No, probably not. But hey, this leader is shooting for the stars. First Oklahoma, then the universe!
Additional Info:

Meaning Mnemonic
Big products need to be put in a big container. A small container just won’t do. These products are big and they need a big container to be contained in.
Additional Info:
Imagine having all these big products. How will you contain them all!? Imagine yourself stuffing all of these big products into their respective containers.

Reading Mnemonic
Once you get the big products into a container, you then lock it with a key (き). You wouldn’t want these products to bust out of their containers, so it’s best to lock them up with a key.
Additional Info:
Imagine the size of these big keys you have to use to lock these containers. It’s a really big key. Picture yourself straining to turn the key in the lock.

Additional Info:
Imagine one hundred soldiers all in a lodge at the same time. It’s going to be mighty loud and mighty crowded. Hear the noisy din of the soldiers as you try and make your way through the crowded lobby at the lodge.

The entrance made by the hundred bodies shook (しゅく) the lodge to its foundation. Being shook by the soldiers steps, everyone else in the lodge was startled.

Additional Info:
Imagine the feeling of eating this mutated blue fish stick. It tastes… odd. Imagine feeling it on your tongue as you taste its blue fish stickiness.

Reading Mnemonic
You start to get the feeling that this isn’t actually a fish stick at all. You think it might be human meat. Human meat from Joseph (じょう) Stalin!?!? How did Joe end up in the fish sticks? What is quality control doing!?
Additional Info:
Now imagine the feeling of biting into a fish stick, only to realize it’s Joseph Stalin. It’s hard to eat. And it’s blue. Why is Joe so blue? Maybe he was really sad when they turned him into a fish stick.

Kun’Yomi:
ととの.*

Meaning Mnemonic
The ent is hanging around in the winter. He is trying to correct this problem (that it is winter), though he can’t do it on his own. So, he goes and talks to his Wizard friend, asking if there’s any way to arrange for a weather change.
Additional Info:
Imagine the ent talking to the wizard about this. He keeps saying “if you can arrange this I’d be very grateful” in a gangster sort of voice. Focus in on the “arrange” portion.

Reading Mnemonic
By talking to the wizard, the ent finds out that the only one who can arrange this is Hard Gay. He calls up Hard Gay and asks for the weather change. Hard Gay yells “SEI SEI SEI!” up at the clouds while thrusting his hips and the cold flees in terror, bringing about summer.
Additional Info:
Think about how this was a good arrangement. Also be sure to think of Hard Gay making it nice and warm again (and feel the warmth on your skin as winter rolls away due to the arrangement that was made).

Meaning Mnemonic
In the central part of the sun, there are thousands of mirrors all pointed outward bouncing off light. I bet you didn’t know this was what the sun was made up of. A ton of mirrors all trying to reflect light. If there’s enough, there will be a lot of brightness. Reflect, reflect!
Additional Info:
The sun can reflect off a lot of things. Glare from the sun is annoying. Imagine the sun’s light being reflected into your eyes. The light hurts and you have to squint.

Reading Mnemonic
Somehow you get a closer look at these mirrors. They are in the shape of an ace (えい), the ace of spades. So when the sun hits it and reflects off, the reflected light is in the shape of an ace.
Additional Info:
Imagine hearing the song Ace of Spades playing in your head as you picture the reflection from the mirror hitting you in the eyes. Senses overload!

Kun’Yomi:

Meaning Mnemonic
If you drive your car off the roof and into a pile of books, you’ll probably lose a wheel and maybe blow an o-ring. Your wheels will get busted up, and you’ll blow an o-ring or something for sure.
Additional Info:
Picture yourself at the wheel of your car as you drive it off the roof. Imagine how scared you would be. You’re going to be injured. Imagine how terrifying this would be, falling off the roof in a car.

Reading Mnemonic
