These days, more people are becoming active in using the internet for research,
pleasure, business, communication, and other purposes. On the other hand, people
assume different identities while in the cyberspace. People act differently when they
are online and offline. We have a real identity and online identity
DIGITAL SELF
is developed from the original phonomenon of “extended self” digital possessions such as photos, videos, slatuses, texis, and emails are now seen to be significantly important in shaping our digital self

refers to the definition of self created by external objects with which one surrounds oneself.

Online Disinhibition Effect (ODE)
occurs when we fail to regulate our impulses, feel less restrained, and feel more open to self-expression because of the anonymity and distance the internet provides. Online personas are different from real-world personas because the internet offers anonymity and psychological distance
Leaving negative comments, engaging in bullying/ trolling, making sexual advances, claiming to be an expert in any given subject ( this will result into toxic disinhibition)
Online Disinhibition Effect (ODE)
- behavior in which people might self-elisclose more on the internet than they would in real life, or go out of their way to help someone or show kindness
Benign Disinhibition
Venting out/ranting on the internet, giving donations in kinds or in money on the internet, being kind on the internet than in real life
Benign Disinhibition
behavior that includes rude language, threats, and visiting places of pornography, crime, and violence on the internet–places the person might not go to in real life

Dissociation -
designates feelings of unreality associated with digital activity. The pandemic has changed the balance between the real world and virtual imagery, making a person more susceptible to digital depersonalization.

A notion that is only in their heads or mind when people don’t know what a virtual person looks or sounds like, people tend to assign traits to those individuals which is an imaginary interaction with the introjected character

Dissociative Imagination
is a psychological effect wherein the imagined self that one portrays over the internet is disconnected from the physical self, and can evolve differently from the biological self. You are portraying different roles digital self and real self is not congruent (feeling blessed (puro utang naman)

designed to elicit perceptions of integrity and moral worthiness, at the same time that it arouses guilt and emulation in others

gains power and arouses fear in others by convincing them that oneself is powerful and/or dangerous
Intimidation

Nang iintimidate tayo ng mga users sa social media by also promoting ourselves who we are, how powerful of influential we are by showing off what we got all our assets and achievement were posted online
Intimidation
advertising ones weakness or dependence on others in the hopes of soliciting help or sympathy out of a sense of social obligation
Supplication
Involves depicting oneself as weak, needy or dependent so as to motivate others to provide assistance or care
