ROI
Return on Investment: a financial metric of profitability that measures the gain or loss from an investment relative to the amount of money invested; usually expressed as a percentage
Present value (PV)
the current value of a future sum of money or cash flow
net present value (NPV)
the sum of the present values of future cash flows minus the project investmant
Internal Rate of Return (IRR)
the expected return expressed as a percentage on the project investment; the interest rate that makes the net present value of all cash flows equal to zero
Benefits Management Plan
the document defining the processes for creating, maximizing and sustaining the benefits provided by a project or program
Net Promoter Score (NPS)
measures a customer’s willingness to recommend a provider’s products or services to another (% of promoters - % of detractors)
AB Testing
testing two variations of a product with different sets of users
PESTLE
external factors that can influence a project’s value; Political, Economic, Social, Technical, Legal, Environmental
Types of organizational structures
Functional, Matrix, Projectized, Composite
PMO
Project management organization - established to provide Project Management support and standardizes project related governance processes and facilitates the sharing of resources, methods, tools and techniques
Enterprise Environmental Factors (EEFs)
conditions not under direct control of the team that can influence, constrain or direct the project, program or portfolio
Organizational Process Assets (OPAs)
assets (such as historical information, processes, procedures, knowledge, etc.) that can assist the project team in the performance of the project
Continuous Improvement (CI)
ongoing effort to improve products, services or processes
Kaizen
continuous improvement through many small changes
