Verb usage (かかる)
かかる uses が by default when a particle is necessary. Remember that amount of time and money are considered counters and do not require particles.
[time, money]がかかる
to cost [money]
to take [time]
verb usage (かいものをする)
Remember that shopping and buying things are entirely different things.

The thing that is being paid is marked with を and the method of payment is marked with で.
[thing] をはちう
to pay [thing]

In the same sentence object first, method second.
“by which means” marker で
The particle で means with, by, or on. It makes the item that is being used to do something. It also used to mark modes of transportation.
Event frequency
This means how often or how many times an event occurs. The counter for frequency is かい.
[time span] に + [number of times] + [ action]
I [action] + [number of times] in + [time span].
The expense of…..
だい can be added to many other words in Japanese to mean the cost of whatever it is added to. It means bill.
ホテルだい hotel bill
タクシーだい cost of taxi
バスだい cost of bus
でんきだい electricity bill
