Lesson 02 Flashcards
Construction Pathway
This pathway includes the actual builders—such as carpenters, painters, and roofers—as well as those who oversee the building process, such as superintendents, construction engineers, and project managers. The builders are most often out in the field working on creating the structures.

Maintenance/Operations Pathway
People in these careers keep structures up and running by knowing machinery, and knowing it well. They know exactly where new machinery should be placed, how to put that machinery together, and how to repair and do preventative maintenance on the machinery.
independent contractor
An independent contractor works for themselves, on a project by project basis. They work with clients for a short amount of time on projects, until the job is done, and then move onto the next client and project.
project manager
A project manager is in charge of the planning and executing of a project from beginning to end. They oversee every part of a project that needs to be done from the beginning to the middle and end. They are not only in charge of the process but also of each person who works on each part of the process. This higher-end career typically requires at least a bachelor’s degree, if not a master’s.
