Lifespan: 10 - 20 years
Origin: Iran, Afghanistan, Western India and Pakistan. The leopard gecko is a desert dweller where water is scarce. All leopard geckos sold at Petland are captive bred and born.

While leopard geckos are very active, they are terrestrial and don’t need a tall tank.

Crickets/worms daily
Crickets/worms no larger than gecko’s head.
Calcium powder should be used to coat crickets before feeding

Lighting
Daytime heat bulbs and nighttime heat bulbs are required to maintain temperature.
While leopard geckos don’t need UVB to survive, some choose to light up their terrarium for aesthetic purposes.
UVA/UVB light has been shown to greatly improve the immune system, health, and
wellness of all reptiles. both diurnal and crepuscular.

Night light bulb is recommended to ensure proper heat in case household temperature drops too low
Recommended Humidity
20 - 35% humidity, similar to a household.
A water dish should always be available.
A hide box with lightly damp sphagnum moss should be provided when gecko is shedding.
The enclosure shouldn’t be misted with water.
Housing
Very personable and intelligent.
Non-aggressive when handled regularly.
Do not pull on tail, it will come off.
Multiple females can be housed together or with a single male.
Never house two males together as they will defend their territory through aggressive fighting which may cause serious injury
