What are some of the checks that the legislative branch has over the other two branches?
The legislative branch can override a vetoed law with a 2/3rds vote, they can impeach the president, they can also approve justice nominations. and they control the budget
What are some of the basic differences between the House and the Senate?
The house is there to represent the district of the states, the House contains 435 representatives, the Senate represents either the people of the states or just the states, and the Senate contains 100 senators. Bills can start in either of the houses unless they deal with money then they start in the house
What do we call the leader of the House of Representatives?
The speaker
Who is the “official leader” of the Senate? Who is considered the leader in their absence?
Vice President, and then the president pro tempore
