civil law - deals with relationships and conflicts ex. divorce, violation of contract
what is tort
the largest area of civil law.
what is unintentional tort
negligence
occurs when a person fails to act carefully or competently and thereby harms the client or damages property.
what is international tort
An intentional tort is a wrongful act that someone plans and carries out while fully aware of their actions
assault - an attempted battery or threatening injury before battery takes place.
battery - actual intentional touch of a clients body without the client consent.
what is defamation of character
injuring the name and reputation of a person by making false statements to a third person
what is false imprisonment
the unlawful restraint or restrictions on a freedom of movement
what is negligence
making a mistake because of carelessness that causes harm to a client
what is delegation of task
a process of assigning specific duties and responsibilities to an individual of an organization
what is libel
a criminal offence when knowingly making statements that harm a persons reputation in print, writing or through pictures or drawings.

what are controlled acts
