Quality Assurance
A civil wrong based on the violation of the duty to provide reasonable care; a violation resulting in the injury to another.
Tort
An incorrect or negligent treatment of a patient by a person responsible for providing health care.
Malpractice
The criterion that is used to verify that the appropriate care was provided to the patient.
Standards of Care
The procedures performed under the doctor’s orders, either written or verbal.
Delegated Practices
The duties that you perform under the rules, conditions or regulations set down by the military departments.
Scope of Duty
This provides malpractice immunity for military health care workers

The Feres Doctrine
This allows the U.S. Government to be sued for personal injury or death by the wrongful or negligent act of a government employee as the individual was acting with in his/her scope of duty.
