post surface of tibia superior to soleal line
Action:
weakly flexes leg at knee, medially rotates tibia if open chain, laterally rotates femur if closed chain (unlock)

lateral supracondylar line of femur, oblique popliteal lig.
attach distally to posterior surface of calcaneus
