iliac crest, iliac fossa, ala of sacrum, anterior sacroiliac ligaments

hip flexion, stabilization of hip joint

Attachments
ASIS + anterior iliac crest
iliotibial tract (lateral condyle of tibia)
Action
abducts and medially rotates thigh
