The ratings of antisocial lying and positive ratings of antisocial truth telling
What was the key difference between Chinese and Canadian children?
The Chinese children rated prosocial lying higher than the Canadian children did
Why did Lee propose Chinese children advocated prosocial lying?
They’re taught in schools to not seek praise and to be modest
What were Lee’s three main conclusions?
1- Moral reasoning can be influence by the culture we live in
2- The influence of socio-cultural factors becomes stronger as we age
3- Some aspects of moral reasoning, such as judging antisocial lying as bad, may be universal
