Lecture 9 Flashcards
1
Q
what are the features of conduction cells?
A
‘pale’ striated appearance
low in actin and myosin
2
Q
what are the features of contraction cells?
A
striated (stipey) appearance
high in actin and myosin
3
Q
describe the conduction pathway of the heart?
A
- SA node signals the right and left atrium at the same time
- the left atrium is signalled through interatrial and fibres
- the AV nodes is also signalled through internodal bundle and fibres
- AV bundle branches is supplied by the AV node
- this then goes through purkinje fibres to the ventricles
4
Q
is the conduction slow or fast at the AV node
A
slow
5
Q
what does the p wave represent in the ECG trace?
A
p wave = atrial depolarisation
6
Q
what does the QRS complex represent in the ECG trace?
A
ventricular depolarisation begins at apex
atrial repolarisation occurs
7
Q
what does the T wave represent in ECG trace?
A
ventricular repolarisation begins at the apex
