Mental health and well-being Legal obligations and responsibilities

A
  • Employer’s legal responsibilities: workplaces have a level responsibility to manage risks to metal wellbeing / mental health just like any other health and safety risk. Ensuring no discrimination and taking steps to reduce work stress
  • They have a legal responsibility to adapt the way they organise things at work to help people who experience mental distress such as allowing them to be more flexible with work arrangements.
  • Human Rights Amendment act 2001 bans workplace discrimination
