14
Q

Weight bearing as tolerated means

A

Weight to tolerance (usually pain) on imapcted extremeity
* as much weight as you can put on it and maintain your normal pattern

most kids don’t do great w/ this because they’ll just put their full weight on it

16
Q

Touch down or toe touch weight bearing meaning

A

Affected extremity used for balance only- can be heel, foot, or toe

18
Q

Crutch/cane moves at same time as opposite LE. Right LE and Left Device together then Left LE and Right Device together

A

Two point

Modified two point: single device in one hand

19
Q

Assistive device-involved side-uninvolved side

A

Three point

Two devices or single device held w/ both hands (think walker)
* Device step, step

20
Q

Device then opposite LE then device and opposite LE one at a time

Right LE-Left Device-Left LE-Right Device

**Why do we use this? ** - probs a practical question

A

Four Point

Left left, right, right

we use this to slow pts down
* its also very stable
* However, kids dont love being slowed down

21
Q

LE in swing phase to assistive device

22
Q

LE in swing phase past assistive device

A

Step Through

23
Q

Device and then bilatearl LE’s together to device

A

Swing To

only a swing to if both legs stay together

24
Q

Device and then bilatearl LE

A

Device and then bilatearl LE’s pass device

25
NOTE: Swing to / through are both legs because both must contact the ground * Can't use if they're none weight bearing on one leg
26
What is a reciprocal gait pattern
Opposite arm and leg move forward at the same time
27
What is a continuous gait pattern?
Continuous forward progression of the LE's
28
What is a discontinuous gait pattern?
Stop and start progression-both feet remain in stance phase while assistive device advanced
