Q

Protein and lipid trafficking

A

Lipid synthesis occurs in association with the cytosolic leaflet of the ER
Translocation to the luminal leaflet requires flippases
Transport of lipid to the cell membrane and to most organelles occurs through vesicular transport
Phospholipid is transferred from the ER to mitochondria and peroxisomes by phospholipid transfer (exchange) proteins.
