Lecture 4 Flashcards

1
Q

What are the types of polymorphisms?

A

SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism), RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism), VNTR (Variable Number Tandem Repeat), SSR (Simple Sequence Repeat), & CNV’s (Copy Number Variant)

Q

Why do polymorphisms not have a profound, if any effect at all on phenotype or expression of disease?
