lecture 2 Flashcards
What is the CoG of an aircraft?
Where the aircraft balances
Centre of Lift/Centre of Pressure what?
Where the lift force acts (moves with AoA)
Aerodynamic centre what?
The reference point for moment on the wing
What is a trimmed flight
Where all forces balanced
is a trimmed flight stable?
Not nessecerly, it could be balanced but stability means if there’s a disturbance it goes back to orig point
What is static stability?
The quick response of an aircraft and the tendency of it to give a reaction in the other direction from the disturbance
What is dynamic stability?
The tendency of the aircraft to return to original points from a disturbance [actual control]
For a Geocentric frame where is the Z and x axis
Z where its spinning, x through Greenwich but at the equator
Difference between Earth centred inertial frame and Earth centred fixed
Inertial stays still while earth rotates, where as fixed rotated with it.
What is an inertial thing
Not accelerating
What is the North East down frame
x north y east Z down- aircraft use it- fixed to aircraft
How do you do frame on aircraft?
Index finger on right wing
What is NED frame used for
Navigation
What is body centred frame used for
control
if an aircraft is static and dynamic one stable and one not which one is the one that can be unstable
dynamic
