What is Aircraft control?
Response of the aircraft to intentionally applied forces
What is the Empennage?
The horizontal and vertical stabilisers
What is a spoiler?
Flap on top of the wing that acts as an air break
When AR increases what does lift induced drag do?
Decreases
What is the flight path angle?
angle between velocity and horizon
What is the pitch angle?
Angle between horizontal axis and horizon
Order of over Mach 1 speeds from smallest to largest?
Subsonic, supersonic, hypersonic
What is a slat?
on the leading edge of a wing creases a slat between it and airofoil
What does a slat do?
Lets air stick on the wing for longer before stalling, increases stall angle
What is slip?
the amount you move laterally (in the direction in a turn away from the direction of the turn
What is a skid
the amount you move laterally in a turn towards the direction of the turn
What is bank angle
angle in roll
