How to help a shocked person ?

A

• Lay down the victim and raise the legs.
• Calm down the patient
• If mouth feels dry, give a clean, wet cloth to slurp.
• Call the doctor immediately.

How to cure severe bleeding ?

A

.. To stop bleeding, keep sterilized dressing or clean hand kerchief and press directly on the wound with the thumb.
• Make the victim lie down and elevate the bleeding part to minimize flow of blood.
• Call the doctor.

Nose bleeding ?

A

• Make the victim sit up and place a cold compress over the nose.
• Consult a doctor if bleeding doesn’t stop.

What is dehydration ?

A

is excessive loss of body fluid and causes severe headache, dizziness and even fainting. Severe dehydration can result in death.

A

• Victim should be made to drink small quantities of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) at frequent intervals.
• Call the doctor if condition persists

Burns

A

o Place the injured area in cold water immediately to reduce the pain and tissue damage. Blot the area and apply a dry sterile dressing. Do not break any blister formed or apply anything on it.

o Severe (third degree) burns - Cover with clean towel /cloth to prevent infection and immediately rush to the hospital.

Help for Fractures and dislocations?

A

• Do not move the victim until expert help arrives.
• Apply a splint in that area if victim has to be moved.
• Do not move a person who has suffered neck or spinal injury.
Ask for immediate medical help.
