Lecture 14 Flashcards
What is a model?
A scientific model is a scientific or mathematical concept of a physical thing
Why use a model?
to create something that may not usually be seen or achievable, to simplify variables
Key themes for models
define the problem, highlight variables of interest, variables can be altered, validates model
What is a physical model?
A physical example of a concept eg creating a smaller model with the same volume water ratio and submersing it in water
What is a mathematical model?
A maths equation or model to describe a theory eg simple walking model
What is a computational model?
a complex maths model
What is MBD?
Multibody dynamics
What is cfd?
creates a 3d model visualising how an animal moves
