Briefly contrast the systematic theology approach to Christology to that of Biblical Theology.
Systematic Theology organizes the information of Christ according to His person and His work, including information from a variety of scriptures and from historical information including that found in various creeds. Biblical Theology studies a variety of key Biblical texts, allowing data to emerge from the study.
Why does Dr. Meadors include the proverb “give a man a fish, and you will feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you will feed him for a lifetime” in his lecture?
He includes it to explain his rationale for taking time to teach students how to “do theology” instead of simply offering the facts about theology. He wants your reading and research to be a lifelong process.
The fact that Jesus is the God-Man is also known as
the hypostatic union
