Dosing Regimen
Total amount of medication patient takes over a specific amount of time. Includes the dose, route of administration, frequency and duration of treatment
Dose
Amount of ingredient a person takes each time
Route of Administration
Method as to how it is taken into the body. Ex. Orally, rectally, Intravenous
Dosing Interval
Amount of time between administered doses and/or frequency of doses over a specific period of time
Maximum Daily Dose
The largest dose you can take in 24 hours
Special Populations
Geriatric Patients
Pediatric Patients
Lactating Patients (Many medications enter breast milk)
Pregnant Patients (Medications may cross placenta)
