Lec 3 Flashcards
1
Q
Synchrony
A
degree that motor units within muscle fire at same time
- when synchronized, start to shake (because you have gaps in tension) this can be good indicator of fatigue when training
2
Q
for what activities would you want high and low synchrony
A
- In lifting heavy weight like squatting, synchrony is good
Play instrument or draw (fine motor skills) you want low synchrony
3
Q
event related potential
A
voltage gen in brain correlate to event or stimuli
4
Q
Motor unit classified as
A
cell body/branching axons of the neuron, and all muscle fibres it innervates
5
Q
S, FR, and FF neurons connect to what type of muscle fibre
A
S - SO (slow oxidative)
FR - Fast oxidative glycolytic
FF - Fast glycolytic
