1
Q

A

Through a stimulus…
This is the response bonding used to explain how a physical skill can be learned

Q

What is a stimulus response bond

A

This is where a performer learns to link a particularly response to a particular stimulus such as the starters gun in swimming (stimulus) triggers the swimmers movement (response) from the blocks or poolside.

Q

How can a person teacher ensure that the stimulus response bond is strengthened when teaching swimming and athletics

A

This can be done by applying thorndikes law of learning. His law of exercise practice task strengthened the sr bond and its connections. E.g. the athlete has frequent attempts of a sprint start.

Thorndikes law of effect- if the response if followed by satisfaction of positive feedback the bond is strengthened

Q

What is thorndikes law of learning

A

These 3 things need to be put in to place-
Law of exercise- the performer must practice the task regularly in a favorable condition e.g. when reinforcements used
Law of effect- the performers are more likely to repeat task if their behaviours are followed by experiences of satisfaction e.g. positive reinforcement
Law of readiness- where the performers are physically and mentally able to complete a task e.g. appropriate motivation and physiological development
