Learning Flashcards
Pseudo conditioning
Conditioning occurs accidentally EG to a lab coat
Discrimination learning
Learned that you do a behavior in some situations but not others.
Based on the discriminative stimulus (SD, stimulus signals positive reinforcement) and S delta (S, stimulus signals no positive reinforcement)
Stimulus generalization
Generalize from one stimulus to a similar stimulus.
Different stimulus. Same response
Happens in both classical and operant conditioning
EG little Albert
Also called mediated generalization
Response generalization
Perform a similar behavior with expectation of getting a similar reinforcer
Only happens in operant conditioning
Reciprocal determinism
Person, behavior, and environment all interact to regulate and learn behavior
Key concept in social learning theory
Behavioral contrast
Two behaviors are initially reinforced at equal levels, then one behavior stops being reinforced. The one that no longer is reinforced decreases, while the one that continues to be reinforced increases.
Response cost
When someone loses something for misbehavior. Example of negative punishment
Generalized conditioned reinforcers
Reinforcers that have reinforcing value cuz they can be exchanged for other reinforcers, such as money and tokens
Respondent conditioning
Another name for classical conditioning
