Leadership Job Interview Questions & Answers Flashcards

1
Q

Tell me about a time when you successfully lead a team and projects.

A

I have had led several successful projects that had strict deadlines.

For instance, in my previous job as a compliance manager, I managed a team that worked on interdepartmental projects with different timelines.

For me, the key to effective leadership and a successful project is maintaining open and clear communication lines, delegating tasks, and keeping track of each project independently.

It is important to coaching and mentor your team and try to help them develop themselves as professionals. This way, they can gradually take on more responsibilities, which is important when you’re working on multiple projects with different deadlines.

I prioritize my time in advance to ensure that I can keep up with all of project deadlines and deliverables.

Communication always plays a major role in project success. Clear communication within teams is essential and my policy is to require that everyone update a shared calendar with updates and changes and then discuss the calendar during weekly standup meetings. These meetings allow me to adjust resources and expectations accordingly. This ensures that my team stays on track and also provides insight any questions from leadership.
