- Situational Characteristics
- Leader Characteristics: coach’s own personal characteristics
- Member Characteristics : athletes’ own personal characteristics.
- Required behaviour: the behaviours required of the leader–coach within the situation.
- Actual Behaviour: The outcomes of athlete satisfaction and team performance are dependent on the alignment of the actual behaviours used by the leader.

Describe Leadership Among Athletes
Athlete leader- A team member, acting in a formal or informal capacity, who guides and influences other team members toward a common objective.
-athlete leaders are responsible for addressing task, social, and external functions of the group and use a wide variety of leadership behaviours to get the team members to interact effectively with each other.
