Autocratic
tend to make decisions themselves
they don’t care about others opinion
they think they are the best
they like being in charge
- quick decision making
- stupid ideas, bad decisions
- they are sorrounden by “yes-men”
- being in charge does not mean being smart
Paternalistic/Maternalistic
they act like your mother/father
they are like autocrats
they care about your feelings - they explain it to you why you have to do things
* + support you
* + family atmosphere: people are comfortable around them
* - if they don’t like you, they ruin your career or fire you
* - they interfier in your personal life
Democratic
they want everyones opinion
everyone has to take part
* + people feel involved
* - very slow decisions
Laissez-Faire
you have to come up with what you have to do
very few directions
* + increases innovation
* - sometimes people need directions
* - tend to avoid decisions
“Situational”
some people switch styles depending on the people or situation
