The Golden Age
A
- time when Cronos was the sky (near beg. of time)
- natural abundance
- no old age
- death like sleep –> inhabit the earth as protective spirits

- children for a hundred years: short adult life
- violent: fail to honor the gods
- Zeus - in anger - buries them

- “all they cared about was fighting and war”
- Homes, tools, weapons - all made of bronze
- destroyed themselves and went down to underworld

- died in great wars (Troy, for example)
- after death –> Islands of the blessed at ends of the earth
