What is in the second plantar layer?

A
  • Quadratus plantae
    • inserts FDL tendon
    • helps flex distal phalnges
    • lateral planar nerve
  • lumbrical muscles
    • Origin- FDL tendon
    • inserts-EDL tendon
    • Medial and lateral planat nerve
    • Flex MTP adn extends IPJ
  • Flexor digitorium longus- FDL
    • origin- posterior aspect of tibia
    • splits into 4 thru medial intermuscular septum inserts planat sriface base 2-5th distal phalanges
    • tibial nerve
  • Flexor hallucis longus- FHL
    • inferior 2/3 post tibia
    • inserts plantar base of distal phalanx of great toe

    • medial planar nerve
  • adductor hallucis
    • Oblique 2-4th MT
    • Inserts prox phalanx great toe- lateral
    • adducts great toe
    • lateral plantar nerve

what is in the fourth layer?

A
  • Dorsal interosseous
    • from 2 heads from proximal half od sides of adjacent metatarsals
    • insert- form a central tendon that inserts on base of 2-4 phalanges
    • Abduct MTPJ
    • Lateral plantar nerve
  • Plantar interosseus
    • origin 3-5 mt
    • insert prox phalanges medially
    • ADDUCTS toes
    • lateral plantar nerve
  • Peroneus longus
    • head of fibular
    • to plantar postemdial medial cuneiform adn lateral side 1st MT
      • superificial peroneal n
      • everts foot and plantarflexes ankle
  • Tibialis posterior
    • Post sup 2/3 surface fibular and intermuscular septum
    • splits into 2 inerts navicular , medial cuneiform and planatrsurface of 2-4MT & 2nd cuneiform
