A

Chukim are those laws in the Torah we seemingly do not know the reason for. Examples:

  1. Keeping kosher
  2. Not mixing meat and dairy
  3. Prohibition to wear Shatnez

What is Mishpatim and give three examples?

A

Mishpatim are laws for which we know the reason — they ‘make sense.’ Examples (think 10 commandments):

  1. Prohibition of kidnap
  2. Prohibition of murder
  3. Prohibition of adultry
